I have enjoyed a long career in Facilities Management starting in the late 80s when the benefits of integration and efficiency across multi-disciplinary services were being recognised. Many of my roles involved the service delivery side of the industry working for major organisations such as OCS and Interserve, and I have had the pleasure of working alongside some very good people. Giving back to our profession, I have been the Chairman of the BIFM Scottish Region and also Chairman of the Judges for the BIFM Awards programme and Head of Governance. I am committed to promoting the science and understanding of Facilities Management and developing the recognition of those who work within its sphere.
